We recently had our annual 1-800-GOT-JUNK? conference, called ‘Kickoff’, which is the time for all franchise partners, managers, and head office staff to come together to share ideas, learn new things, catch up with each other, and celebrate the previous year’s successes. One of the most exciting parts of Kickoff is the awards gala, where people are recognized for their achievements.
While we had many fantastic award-winners that night, I’d like to take a moment to highlight this year’s ‘Franchise of the Year’ winners, each of whom has done fantastic things in their region and really embody what it means to be a part of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?:
Franchise of the year, West Region: South Bay, CA
With our South Bay franchise, ‘perfection is expected, but excellence will be tolerated.’ This franchise’s high expectations have led them to see fantastic success, including 33% growth this year and fantastic customer engagement. They’re always looking for ways to improve and are always incredibly positive. Congratulations!

Franchise of the year, South Region: Atlanta Northwest, GA
Atlanta NW has a perfect record when it comes to customer service! On top of achieving their goals this year and being a role model in the region, Franchise Partner Todd Beaver is an advocate for Habitat for Humanity in Georgia and regularly promotes giving back to the community. Way to go!

Franchise of the year, Northeast Region: Long Island East, NY
Long Island East has doubled in size in only two years and always takes great care with customers. When Hurricane Sandy devastated the area in 2012, the franchise offered to pick up donations–such as blankets, clothing and non-perishables–around the community for free, and helped clean up debris. A much deserved award!

Franchise of the year, Central Region: Denver, CO
Franchise Partner Jay Montgomery is a go-getter, and is always involved with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? pilots and programs. The Denver franchise has a huge list of happy customers and provides great leadership to many in the system. Keep up the great work!

Franchise of the year, Quebec Region: Montreal Ouest
Our Montreal Ouest franchise is heavily involved in the local community. This year, $5 from every job will be donated to West Island Community Shares, which provides services and funds for numerous charities in the West Island of Montreal. Franchise Partner Brad Whitmore is currently working on a yard sale fundraiser event, which will take place this spring and all donations will benefit West Island Community Shares. Great job!

Franchise of the year, Australia Region: Adelaide
For a franchise who is thousands of miles away from head office, our Adelaide location is clearly doing just fine: it grew 108% last year! One of the most devoted Franchise Partners in our system, Rob Curnow truly cares about his customers, employees, and his business. This is the true blue wig spirit!
