Sometimes you just have to say: “Be careful what you wish for!” We’ve all experienced those times, right? When you’re on the fence with a big idea, weighing the pros and cons, calculating risk? Typically that cliché refers to when your wish comes true in a big way and all of a sudden the responsibility cloaks you in all its heavy glory. Here at the Junktion we had a similar jolt this morning when we discovered this, picture left!
Okay, so right off…no, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? did not sponsor this tee (even though our Chief Operating Officer doesn’t believe us and thinks the logo should have been bigger! Ha! Ha!). But, truly, we thank whoever did because it’s a smart play on words.
When we considered a similar PR stunt on Tuesday, nicely coinciding with one of the busiest, most-talked-about travel days this year, our idea was to leverage our already outspoken Movember message: get your Junk checked! For the past several weeks this has been our message, as hundreds of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? truck team members, franchise owners, and corporate employees grow mo’s for men’s cancers.
How nice that this airline security issue hit the media headlines at the same time!
So why didn’t we cover major airport hubs yesterday greeting the masses with our message? The truth is…to you, who created the US Homeland Security-co-branded-with-1-800-GOT-JUNK? tee shirt? Maybe you just beat us to it? Maybe we have a better idea up our sleeve? Or maybe we’re focusing on a big celebration, like hitting our goal to build the world’s largest Movember team!? I guess you’ll all just have to wait and see!
