What Does 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Do…Exactly?
Oh, I remember that question well. In my early days with the company I heard it often, in various forms: Do you charge? You mean we don’t have to take it to the curb? You clean up afterward? Really? Eventually, the confusion dissipated into the afterlife of oh-so-simple-business-concepts-now-understood. Yet, here I am fulfilling one of my 101 Personal Life Goals by attempting to communicate with the “other side.” I am resurrecting the “What do you do?” question from the afterlife…and answering it anew.
Why am I doing this, you might ask? Well, lately, due to a fairly significant amount of time spent on a television reality show by many of our trucks and teams, there has been a flurry of questions about what we do. Oh! You’re the guys who work with Hoarders, right? Well, on TV, yes, quite a bit. But every day?
To clarify, here’s the service description:
1-800-GOT-JUNK? provides junk removal services, helping people in North America and Australia regain space in their homes and businesses. For a fee, we remove junk from wherever it may be, take it away to a donation facility, recyclers, or landfill, and do a clean-up of your area afterward. Whether it’s an unused sofa or a garage full of junk…whether it’s appliances disposal or computer recycling…so long as it’s not hazardous, the friendly, uniformed truck teams decked out in blue and green can take care of it for you.
And yes, we help hoarders too! It’s just…well, not all we do!
