What lies beneath….

Letter from President Nixon to John Wayne, dated 1970

Picture this: You open a door. Peer in and see nothing but years of what appears to be just useless junk. It needs to go. So it’s gone.

But like the Transformers, there may be more than meets the eye!

Take The Lido for example. Our Vancouver team walked into this mysterious building, that hadn’t been cleaned for decades, but never could have guessed what they were about to find. After the mountains of clutter had been taken away the carpet was pulled up revealing a few thousand dollars in cash. Later another $400,000 was unearthed!

The list of fascinating finds that we have discovered is longer than you can imagine. But it’s the small things that would have stayed hidden if we hadn’t come that are truly amazing.

This one really blows my hair back, and it’s only 1/4 of an inch long. A couple of years ago in Los Angeles, we found letters from President Richard Nixon to John “The Duke” Wayne congratulating him on winning an Academy Award for “True Grit”. You have to see it to believe it so click on the image for a closer look.

Not everyone has these kinds of things just lying around, but you never know what secrets are hiding in unsuspecting places.

Perhaps Clark Gable’s piano is underneath those stacks of TV Guides in your parents’ rumpus room? Actually, it isn’t because we found that as well.
